It! July 30, 2009 Nick 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This item was perfect! Arrived 3 days early! The light bulbs have not blown yet. The brightness is more than enough to shine my basement. Unlike other strobe lights, these do not need to be turned off every 15 mins. Why spend 20+ dollars on one strobe light when you can have TWO for twice as less.

Great price. Put them in opposite corners of a huge living room, turned the lights off, and you would have thought you were in a great club with expensive equiptment. Came in only a few days, right before halloween. Great success, colors are fun too!
It DOES Work! February 22, 2010 Bargain Finder (Los Angeles, CA) I was sceptical that such an inexpensive unit would work just as I'd expect it to...right out of the box. But both units 'do' work well! I can't vouch for how bright it is in the dark (or how long it will last), but for how I used it...as an alarm 'of sorts' to alert me during the daytime...it worked fine. I wish it had a 'positive' off switch (which the instructions 'imply' that it does have), so I have to unplug it to completly power-it-down. Other than that, it works just as you'd hope any variable speed strobe to work. (BTW: When you mount it via the bracket, 'mark' the hole position in the bracket on the material you're mounting it to, then take away the entire unit before trying to get the screw started in the wood. The bracket just isn't high enough to get a screw driver to thread-in a screw, as the unit will get in the way of the screwdriver. Just play with it, and you'll see what I mean. But this is a VERY MINOR issue.)
great deal April 7, 2010 drew (albany, ny) they are mad cheap and they work great. I got two orders of two. Set them up in my dorm each a different color, it was awesome. i don't know how good they would be for mounting, they have a mount/stand but it's just thin plastic. I used it as a stand and it worked fine.
the cord is 5 and a half feet long, give or take an inch or two.
It has one knob that in one direction it's "off" and if you keep turning it the other way it goes faster and faster. off is in quotes because I'm pretty sure you're supposed to unplug it when you're not going to use it for more than a few minutes. all of mine go about the same speed when turned all the way up, one I have doesn't go slow well. It doesn't go at all instead of going slow. In general they don't go two slow, i think the slowest was only a few seconds apart at max but they are still cool.
Okay, but "light power" is on the low side. March 21, 2010 M. Nelson (Texas) If you just need a cheap strobe, okay. But don't expect to alert lost ships from a lighthouse.
